Liposuction
Targeted contouring for areas that don't respond to diet and exercise.
Procedure overview
Liposuction removes localised fat deposits that persist despite diet and exercise, refining body shape rather than achieving overall weight loss.
It can be performed on many areas — abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms and more — and is often combined with other body procedures for a more complete result.
The patient pathway
- 01
1st consultation
Target areas, skin elasticity and expectations are assessed to determine suitability and technique.
- 02
2nd consultation
Areas to be treated, expected volume of fat removal, and garment requirements are confirmed.
- 03
The procedure
Performed under local or general anaesthesia depending on extent, typically 1 to 3 hours.
- 04
Follow-up
A compression garment is worn for several weeks, with review appointments at 1, 6 and 12 weeks.
Questions patients ask
Is this a substitute for weight loss?
No — it's intended for stubborn localised fat, not as a general weight-loss method.
Will the fat come back?
Treated fat cells are permanently removed, though remaining fat cells can still enlarge with significant weight gain.
How much downtime is needed?
Most patients return to non-strenuous activity within a few days to a week, with full recovery over several weeks.
Can multiple areas be treated at once?
Yes, though the total volume treated in one session is limited for safety, which is discussed during consultation.
