Brazilian Butt Lift
A fuller, more contoured silhouette using your own tissue.
Procedure overview
A Brazilian Butt Lift uses liposuction to remove fat from other areas of the body, which is then purified and re-injected into the buttocks to enhance shape and volume.
Because it uses the patient's own fat rather than implants, the donor areas are also contoured as part of the same procedure.
The patient pathway
- 01
1st consultation
Donor areas, available fat volume and desired shape are assessed to plan realistic goals.
- 02
2nd consultation
Expected fat transfer volume, technique and recovery requirements — including limits on sitting — are explained in detail.
- 03
The procedure
Performed under general anaesthesia, typically 2 to 3 hours, usually with a short overnight stay.
- 04
Follow-up
Sitting and lying on the back are restricted for a period after surgery; a compression garment is worn, with review at 1, 6 and 12 weeks.
Questions patients ask
Does all the transferred fat survive?
Some percentage of transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed by the body — the amount injected accounts for this.
Why can't I sit normally after surgery?
Avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks for a period helps the transferred fat establish blood supply and survive.
Is this safer than implants?
Both approaches have distinct risk profiles; suitability depends on the patient's own tissue and goals, discussed individually.
How long do results last?
Fat that survives the initial healing period is generally long-lasting, though weight fluctuation can affect the result over time.
