Breast Lift
Restoring a lifted, natural contour.
Procedure overview
A breast lift raises and reshapes breasts that have lost firmness due to pregnancy, weight change or ageing, without necessarily changing their volume.
It's often combined with augmentation for patients who want both a lift and added volume, though it can be performed entirely on its own.
The patient pathway
- 01
1st consultation
Degree of sagging, skin elasticity and goals are assessed to determine the most suitable lift technique.
- 02
2nd consultation
Incision pattern, expected scarring and whether augmentation should be combined are discussed. Surgery date is confirmed.
- 03
The procedure
Performed under general anaesthesia, typically 2 to 3 hours, usually as day surgery or a short overnight stay.
- 04
Follow-up
A support garment is worn for several weeks, with review appointments at 1, 6 and 12 weeks.
Questions patients ask
Will this add volume to my breasts?
A lift alone repositions existing tissue rather than adding volume — augmentation can be combined if more volume is wanted.
How long does the result last?
Results are long-lasting, though pregnancy, significant weight change and ageing can affect the outcome over time.
Is there visible scarring?
Scar extent depends on the amount of lift needed — from a scar around the areola alone to a more extensive pattern for greater sagging.
Can I combine this with a reduction?
Yes, a lift is frequently combined with reduction when both excess size and sagging are present.
