Breast Augmentation
A personalised approach to proportion and natural-looking volume.
Procedure overview
Breast augmentation increases breast size and improves shape using silicone or saline implants, or in some cases the patient's own fat. Implant size, profile and placement are chosen to suit the individual's frame and goals.
The result is planned around long-term proportion and comfort, not a fixed idea of an 'ideal' size.
The patient pathway
- 01
1st consultation
Breast anatomy, skin quality and goals are assessed. Implant type, size range and placement options are discussed.
- 02
2nd consultation
Sizing is finalised, often with sizers to visualise the outcome. Surgery date and pre-operative instructions are confirmed.
- 03
The procedure
Performed under general anaesthesia, typically 1 to 2 hours, usually with a short overnight stay or as day surgery.
- 04
Follow-up
A support garment is worn for several weeks, with review appointments at 1 week, 6 weeks and 6 months.
Questions patients ask
How long do implants last?
Modern implants are durable, but they are not considered lifetime devices — most patients are advised to plan for evaluation after 10 to 15 years.
Will I be able to breastfeed afterwards?
Most breast augmentation techniques aim to preserve breastfeeding ability, though this is discussed individually based on incision approach.
How long is recovery?
Most patients return to non-strenuous work within a week; strenuous exercise is usually resumed after 4 to 6 weeks.
Will the scars be visible?
Incision placement is chosen to keep scarring as inconspicuous as possible, and it fades significantly over the first year.
