Neck Lift
Restoring a defined neckline and jaw contour.
Procedure overview
A neck lift addresses loose skin, muscle banding and fat accumulation under the chin and along the neck, restoring a more defined profile.
It's often combined with a facelift, but can also be performed on its own when the lower face is otherwise unaffected.
The patient pathway
- 01
1st consultation
Neck skin laxity, muscle banding and fat distribution are assessed to determine the right technique.
- 02
2nd consultation
Whether liposuction alone, muscle tightening, or skin excision is needed is confirmed, along with expected downtime.
- 03
The procedure
Performed under local or general anaesthesia depending on extent, typically 1 to 3 hours.
- 04
Follow-up
A compression garment is worn for the first 1-2 weeks, with review appointments at 2 weeks and 3 months.
Questions patients ask
How is this different from a facelift?
A neck lift focuses specifically on the neck and jawline, while a facelift also addresses the mid-face.
How long does swelling last?
Most swelling settles within 2-3 weeks, though some tightness can persist for a few months.
Will I need to wear anything after surgery?
A compression garment is typically worn for the first week or two to support healing.
Is this a permanent result?
Results are long-lasting, though natural ageing continues afterwards.
