2nd consultation
Technique, incision placement and expected downtime are discussed in detail. Surgery date is confirmed.

The procedure
Typically performed under general anaesthesia, lasting 2 to 4 hours depending on extent, usually with one night's stay.

Follow-up
Drains and stitches are removed within the first two weeks, with review appointments at 1, 3 and 6 months.

How long does the swelling and bruising last?
Most visible bruising resolves within 2-3 weeks; residual swelling can take a few months to fully settle.
