Procedure Overview
Implant revision addresses concerns with existing breast implants — including capsular contracture, implant rupture, size change requests, or simply reaching the point where implants are due for evaluation. Depending on the reason for revision, treatment may involve implant replacement, removal, repositioning, or a combination with a lift.
IDEAL FOR
Patients with ageing, damaged or unsatisfactory existing breast implants requiring replacement or adjustment.
How the treatment works
01
First consultation
The reason for revision, current implant details and any complications are reviewed to plan the right approach.
02
Planning
New implant selection (if applicable), incision approach and whether a lift is needed are finalised.
03
The procedure
Performed under general anaesthesia, typically 1 to 3 hours depending on complexity, usually as day surgery or a short stay.
04
Recovery & follow-up
A support garment is worn for several weeks, with review appointments at 1, 6 and 12 weeks.
