Procedure Overview
Gynecomastia surgery reduces enlarged breast tissue in men, which can result from hormonal changes, genetics, certain medications, or weight fluctuation, and often does not resolve with diet or exercise alone. Depending on the underlying cause, treatment may involve liposuction alone, direct tissue excision, or a combination of both.
IDEAL FOR
Men with enlarged breast tissue that hasn't responded to diet or exercise, seeking a flatter chest contour.
How the treatment works
01
First consultation
Chest tissue composition (glandular versus fatty) is assessed, along with possible underlying causes, to determine the right technique.
02
Planning
Expected scarring, technique and recovery are explained in detail. Surgery date is confirmed.
03
The procedure
Performed under general or local anaesthesia with sedation, typically 1 to 2 hours, usually as day surgery.
04
Recovery & follow-up
A compression garment is worn for several weeks, with review appointments at 1, 6 and 12 weeks.
